My Path to UX
I have always been a visual person, loving both graphic and visual arts. I studied Strategic Design and Management at Parsons the New School for Design in New York City, which is where I first learned about design thinking methods and user centred design. Many of my projects focused on the intersection of communities, business and technology. (If you wish to see some of my work, click here.)
I took numerous classes in communication and graphic design because I loved creating print and digital media. For 6 months I interned at an ad agency as a graphic designer, and through this realised that I was looking to produce more meaningful work.
When I discovered User Experience, I was thrilled that design was a medium to solve complex problems to serve a greater purpose.
Whilst at General Assembly, I learned a great set of tools through a variety of projects. Involving users during interviews and testing added a lot of value and weight to the ideas and process.
I love the collaborative nature of UX, and hope to continue to learn and grow with the right company. If you are interested in meeting or learning more, please feel free to reach out!
